Continuing Education

Interested in upgrading courses for Post Secondary plans? Never graduated and would like to? Whatever situation you are, we can help!

Tuition-free courses are available for adults who want to earn a high school diploma or upgrade their academic qualifications for a post-secondary program. We offer self-paced online courses taught by subject specialist teachers. You can start a new course any time and access your lessons anywhere, but we also have a drop-in adult classroom in Sechelt where you can get one on one help from a teacher.

Requirements for an Adult Grad are:

If you are 18 or older, you can earn the BC Adult Graduation Diploma with five courses:

  • English 12
  • Mathematics 11 or 12
  • Three other Grade 12 courses (one could be Social Studies 11)

We offer a full range of high school English, Mathematics, Social Studies and Science courses as well as some electives.

Upgrading English, Mathematics and Science courses is tuition-free for adult students 18 years and older who are BC residents (Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and refugees). You can retake a high school course to improve your mark, or complete a prerequisite course required for a post-secondary program. Final marks are reported to the BC Ministry of Education and will appear on your official BC graduation transcript.

Come on in and talk to us, or send us an email if you are interested in upgrading or completing your Adult Dogwood.  You can also register online at:  sd46online.ca
